It wasn’t an easy road, but the Creighton Kodiaks girls’ basketball team are repeat Kit Classic champions. The Kodiaks came away with a hard-fought 43-36 win over the rival Hapnot Kweens in the weekend tournament’s final game.

The Flin Flon Bombers extended their winning streak to six games over the weekend. Flin Flon downed Yorkton 4-2 on Friday, Jan. 13 and shut out Notre Dame 4-0 on Saturday, Jan. 14. The Bombers have not lost since the Christmas break.

A Flin Flon Bomber who just keeps getting better is headed to Michigan Tech next fall. Forward Greyson Reitmeier, 20, committed to the Houghton, Mich. school last week.

After winning eight of their last 10 games, the Flin Flon Bombers are owners of second place overall in the SJHL. Flin Flon (25-10-2-2-0) has 54 points, 12 back of first-place Battlefords (33-7-0-0-3) with 66 points.

The Flin Flon Bombers served the Kindersley Klippers a heaping slice of humble pie Saturday night with a 5-0 shutout win. Flin Flon has not lost a game since the holiday season, going a perfect 4-0 since the break.
