One of Flin Flon’s most imposing hockey presences returned to an NHL rink. Reid Simpson, 47, joined other Chicago Blackhawks alumni for the Winter Classic Alumni Game played Dec. 31 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis.

Seamus Maguire is definitely a man in uniform. The former Flin Flon Bomber is playing hockey this season for the Royal Military College of Canada. At the Kingston, Ont., school, he is training for army logistics and a full-time military career.

Friday night in Kindersley was kind to the Flin Flon Bombers, who earned a 5-3 win over the hometown Klippers. Rylee Zimmer pumped home two goals for the Bombers, who now move to 24-10-2-2 on the season.

The Flin Flon Bombers certainly did not look tired or stuffed with turkey in their return from the SJHL Christmas break. The Bombers beat the La Ronge Ice Wolves 6-1 on the road on Friday, Dec. 30.

The first four months of the 2016-17 SJHL season have certainly been productive for the Flin Flon Bombers. At the league’s Christmas break, the club has posted a 21-10-2-2 record.
