Todd Hornung has mixed feelings about his final game in a Flin Flon Bombers uniform. The Bombers were hosting the 2001 Royal Bank Cup, Canada’s national Junior A championship.

Not long ago, Connor Ingram was trying to get ice time with the Flin Flon Bombers. Now he has a chance to play for Canada on a global stage. Ingram was named Nov. 29 to the selection camp roster for this year’s World Junior Hockey Championships.

A pair of Flin Flon Bombers have earned the right to represent their country and to compete against some of the best Junior A players in the world.

Next season Flin Flon Bombers defenceman Eric Sinclair will be displaying his skills up north in a place that feels a bit like his home to the east. The Kenora, Ont.

Taylor Thiessen remembers well what it was like coming into the Whitney Forum as an opponent. “I played three-and- a-half seasons for the Nipawin Hawks and there was never an easy game played in the Whitney Forum,” Thiessen said.

Two Bombers have been recognized for their success during the month of November.

It isn’t rare for Flin Flon hockey fans to throw objects on the ice, whether it’s a cap after a hat trick or a moose leg after a big win. During Friday night’s home game against the Nipawin Hawks, the objects took on a cuddlier, cuter form.

Another volleyball season is over for the Hapnot senior varsity Kings and Kweens volleyball teams. Each team suited up one final time this year for the boys’ and girls’ provincial championships.

By defeating the Nipawin Hawks twice last weekend, the Flin Flon Bombers greatly improved their grasp on the Sherwood Division lead. The Bombers knocked off the Hawks 4-1 at home on Friday, and 3-2 on the road on Saturday.

The Flin Flon Bombers are flying high again after a 5-3 home win over the Weyburn Red Wings. Forwards Rylee Zimmer and reigning SJHL Player of the Month Greyson Reitmeier scored twice in the win. Reitmeier added two assists.
