The Flin Flon Bombers are flying high again after a 5-3 home win over the Weyburn Red Wings.
Forwards Rylee Zimmer and reigning SJHL Player of the Month Greyson Reitmeier scored twice in the win. Reitmeier added two assists. New Bomber Jordan McCausland scored his first goal in maroon and white in the third, his first SJHL goal since Oct. 14.
Jarrett Metheral, Ryan Rothenburger and Ian Parker added goals for Weyburn, but Bomber goalie Brenden Newton got the better of the Wings, making 27 saves for the win.
Flin Flon has won nine of their last ten games and earned points in 14 of their last 16 games. The win increases the Bombers point total to 40, first in the Sherwood Division and nine points clear of second-place Nipawin.
Assistant coach Garry Childerhose took control of Bomber bench for Wednesday's game. Head coach and general manager Mike Reagan was in Alberta at a training camp for the upcoming World Junior A Challenge. Reagan will serve as an assistant coach for Team Canada West at the tournament.
The Bombers are back at the Whitney Forum on Friday, Dec. 9 for a tilt against the Viterra Division-leading Estevan Bruins. It will be the last home game before the Christmas break for the Bombers, who will go on a four-game road trip before players head home for the holidays.
