Well, it was fun while it lasted. The Flin Flon Bombers' six-game winning streak was snapped Friday night with a 3-2 loss to the Battlefords North Stars.

Flin Flon won’t have a perfect season in the Greenstone Hockey League, but it looks like they’ll come pretty darn close. The club side suffered its first loss of the season Dec. 7 in a hard-fought 1-0 loss to Frontier Collegiate.

Every season he has been in Flin Flon, Bombers forward Kristian St. Onge has taken major steps forward.

It was a successful start for the Hapnot Kweens basketball team. After their first tournament this year, the team came home with a title. The Kweens won the Bill McDonald Memorial Tournament, held in The Pas Dec. 9-10.

Coming into Wednesday night, the Battlefords North Stars were the hottest team in the SJHL. Not anymore. The Flin Flon Bombers took the crown with a 4-2 victory.

The accolades continue to come in for Flin Flon Bombers forward Greyson Reitmeier.

With a big 8-3 win over Estevan last Friday, Dec. 9, the Flin Flon Bombers extended their winning streak to four games. “All four lines were rolling,” said Bombers assistant coach Garry Childerhose.

The Flin Flon Bombers opened their year-end road swing with a 4-1 win over the La Ronge Ice Wolves, extending their winning streak to five.

The Flin Flon Aqua Jets hit the pool for the first time this year at a meet in The Pas. Fourteen competitive members of the Flin Flon Aqua Jets and five pre-competitive members attended The Pas Road Runner’s Fall Invitation Swim Meet on Nov. 5.

The Flin Flon Bombers took it to the Viterra Division-leading Estevan Bruins at the Whitney Forum Friday night, coming away with a lopsided 8-3 win.
