It's official. The Flin Flon Bombers are on a roll. The Bombers extended their winning streak with a 4-0 shutout against the Notre Dame Hounds.

Rylee Zimmer, Jason Lavallee, Troy Williams and Jordan McCausland each scored for the Bombers, who shelled Hounds goalie Benjamin Patt with 53 shots. While the Bomber offense came out with a vengeance, the Hounds sat and played dead, getting only 22 shots.

Brenden Newton came to play against his former team, earning his third shutout of the season against a team that included SJHL scoring leader Ben Duperreault. Newton played bantam and midget hockey with Notre Dame, but never got to play with the SJHL Hounds.

The Bombers are now on a six-game winning streak and have not lost since the Christmas break. The Bombers have won each of the past six games by at least two goals and have scored at least four goals in each game.

Flin Flon stays on top of the Sherwood Division with 56 points, ahead of the Nipawin Hawks and Melfort Mustangs. Nipawin sits in a comfortable second with 49 points, while Melfort has 38.

The Bombers will put their unbeaten 2017 record to the test next week in a pair of games against the Yorkton Terriers. The teams will play at the Farrell Agencies Arena on Jan. 20 and 21.
