Two weeks ago, the season seemed over for the Hapnot Kings soccer team. After a disappointing finish at the zone championships, the Kings hadn’t earned a spot in provincials. Late last week, that changed.

Flin Flon Bombers newcomer Dondre Watson has wasted no time adjusting to the SJHL. Heading into Tuesday’s games, the forward led the league in goals and was seventh in points with nine points, all goals, in his first eight games.

A sailor with family connections to Flin Flon found success at the Summer Paralympics in Rio. Logan Campbell, 28, was a member of Canada’s bronze-winning sonar-class sailing team. He is the grandson of long-time area resident Glen R.

Netminder Zac Robidoux allowed just one goal in two games to help the Flin Flon Bombers to a pair of weekend victories over the Melville Millionaires. Robidoux is now 3-0 on the season.
