Bombers within one point of first overall heading into weekend

With a 4-1-1-0 record, the Bombers have nine points in six games – the same as Estevan and Weyburn. Humboldt leads the league with a 5-1-0-0 record, good for 10 points.

The Bombers split their two-game appearance at this week’s SJHL Showcase in Warman, losing 4-3 to Weyburn on Monday before rebounding with a 6-5 OT win against Yorkton on Tuesday.

Newcomer Dondre Watson leads Flin Flon in scoring with eight points, all goals, in six games. In net, Brenden Newton has played 70 per cent of the minutes, earning a 3.05 GAA and a 0.881 save percentage.

Flin Flon hosts Melville Friday and Saturday at the Whitney Forum.
