Chalk up yet another victory for the Creighton Kodiaks football team. The Kodiaks defeated the Cumberland House Islanders 60-50 Thursday afternoon to remain undefeated this season – and in their history.

Although the Flin Flon Bombers did not earn a win on SJHL’s opening weekend, the team’s bench boss was pleased with his team’s play. “We are happy with our team,” said head coach and general manager Mike Reagan.

As the rest of us go about our regular Saturday routines tomorrow, local athletes Jason Straile and Chad Trumbley will be swimming 1.5 km in icy Lake Michigan, biking 40 km and running 10 km through the streets of downtown Chicago.

Alex Smith scored twice and Zac Robidoux made 33 saves in a losing cause as the Flin Flon Bombers dropped their season opener 5-3 Friday night in Nipawin.

The Flin Flon Bombers have added size up front by trading winger Brett Kitt to the Melville Millionaires in exchange for Greyson Reitmeier and a player to be named later.

This past spring, while still stinging from his team’s early playoff exit, Flin Flon Bombers head coach and GM Mike Reagan refused to abandon his fundamental goal.

The Flin Flon Bombers Golf Tournament, held last Friday, Sept. 11, brought fans and players together. Seventeen teams, each made up of fans and players, finished nine holes of golf before dining on a steak dinner.

Two local U12 soccer teams travelled to Carmen, Manitoba, on September long weekend to participate in a regional showcase. The soccer tournament was in preparation for the Manitoba Summer games to be held in August 2016.

The Creighton Kodiaks football team remains undefeated – this season and in its history – after obliterating the Senator Myles Venne School Huskies 84-6 last week.
