The Flin Flon Bombers have added size up front by trading winger Brett Kitt to the Melville Millionaires in exchange for Greyson Reitmeier and a player to be named later.

Reitmeier, 19, is slated to make his Maroon and White debut tonight, Friday, in Nipawin as the Bombers open the regular season.

“We’re really happy to have acquired Greyson,” said Bombers head coach and GM Mike Reagan. “He’s a big body that drives the net and skates very well.”

Reitmeier, a native of Nakusp, BC, stands 6 ft 3 in and weighs 190 lbs.

He’s not much of a scorer, managing 16 points (7G, 9A) to go with 20 penalty minutes in 48 games with Melville last season. He added one point, a goal, and zero penalty minutes in five playoff games.

Reitmeier spent the 2013-14 season with the Trail Smoke Eaters of the BCHL, accumulating 12 points (1G, 11A) and 18 penalty minutes in 50 games.

Kitt, 19, split last season between the Bombers and the WHL’s Lethbridge Hurricanes. In 19 games with Flin Flon he had 12 points (5G, 7A) and 54 penalty minutes. He added three points (2G, 1A) and a whopping 17 penalty minutes in four playoff games.

At 6 ft 1 in, the Brandon native lacks Reitmeier’s height but is bulkier at 205 lbs. Kitt was recently reassigned by the WHL’s Hurricanes.

The Bombers announced the trade on Wednesday.
