What do YOU think?

Trevor Miller I think Mr. Pallister is reaching with this one, especially considering how easily some of the signs could be confused with the federal Tories’ “Economic Action Plan” signage.

How do our city’s taxes and fees stack up?

Is the cost of living in Flin Flon spiralling out of control? Are taxes and utility bills far too high? Is municipal spending unreasonable? These questions, as common as they have become in recent years, are completely subjective.

My Take on Snow Lake

“Callin’ out around the world, are you ready for a brand new beat? Summer’s here and the time is right for dancin’ in the street.” So goes the first verse of the 1964 Martha and the Vandellas classic.

Don’t get personal

The City of Flin Flon is not enemy number one. Yes, you may not agree with everything they do. Yes, your property taxes and utility bills are going up.

What do YOU think?

Trevor Miller The Bombers are a big part of our identity and history, so the city ought to support them to some extent.

Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor, Isn’t it nice to see Creighton town council and the mayor working for the public. The new speed limit around the school is very worthwhile, as long as the law enforcers are out there. Yes, let’s all slow down.

The big cigar

The 40th anniversary of Hudbay’s smoke stack this year has me waxing nostalgic. When I was a boy, my idea of a major Saturday afternoon outing was riding the bus uptown with my mom.

Major investment for area highways

Minister of Infrastruc-ture and Transportation Steve Ashton was in Snow Lake recently to make an announcement that will have far-reaching effects for the town’s economy and the fortunes of companies doing business in or near the community.

Worth pursuing

A record-breaking cultural landmark will find a new home in Flin Flon if a local group has its way.

What do YOU think?

Trevor Miller My favourite local landmark is the observation tower at Bakers Narrows, particularly at the beginning of fall when the leaves start changing. To me, that’s pretty much the most beautiful spot in the world.
