Flin Flon Bomber Brett Boehm has been suspended from three games after a Major Check from Behind.

The Flin Flon Bombers dropped two games in two nights but remained in second place in the Sherwood Division. Flin Flon hosted the Battlefords North Stars, Tuesday night – after coming home from a 2-0 road loss against them – and were outscored 4-3.

The Flin Flon Bombers haven’t made the Top 20 cut for the CJHL, but a few of their SJHL opponents have. The Melville Millionaires and Yorkton Terriers are ranked 10th and 15th in this week’s rankings.

The Flin Flon Bombers split another road series as they ended the weekend with two points. The Bombers took on the Kindersley Klippers Friday and picked up a close 3-2 win before losing 2-0 Saturday in Battleford.

Another successful open house for the Flin Flon-Creighton Ski Club indicates an encouraging season to come. “What a start to the season – looks like it’s going to be a great one,” the club’s Dave Price wrote in an e-mail to The Reminder.

In an effort to ensure all Manitoba athletes are able to participate in sports, the third annual Polar Bear Dare will be held in February.

The Flin Flon Minor Hockey Association is up and running for another campaign. Players competed for spots on rec teams earlier this season. Four squads make up the rec teams for the Association and consist of 54 hockey players.

Player of the Week Brett Boehm, Flin Flon Bombers 1994 F Brett Boehm (Martensville SK) contributed a goal and five assists in four games played last week as he continues to shoulder the offensive load for the scoring challenged Bombers.

Flin Flon Bombers goaltender Simon Hofley turned away 21 shots from the Melfort Mustangs in the final frame last Wednesday night as they ended the third period tied 2-2. The Bombers picked up the shootout win after seven rounds.
