Player of the Week
Brett Boehm, Flin Flon Bombers
1994 F Brett Boehm (Martensville SK) contributed a goal and five assists in four games played last week as he continues to shoulder the offensive load for the scoring challenged Bombers.
Boehm helped his team sweep La Ronge mid-week with a goal and two assists at the Whitney Forum on Tuesday and then he chipped in with an assist one night later on the road.
He set up both of his team’s goals on Saturday in Melville.
For the year, he’s got nine goals and 11 assists in 16 games.
Goaltender of the Week
Brett Soles, Notre Dame Hounds
1995 G Brett Soles (Cranbrook BC) won both of his road starts via shutout last week, blanking a pair of really good hockey clubs in the process.
He made 23 saves in defeating the Kindersley Klippers on Thursday and then blocked 29 shots in a tight 1-0 decision over Nipawin on Sunday.
It was a nice rebound for Soles, who now has a 4-4-and-1 record to go along with a 3.29-GAA and .895-SPCT.
Defenseman of the Week
Ryan Cooper, Weyburn Red Wings
1993 D Ryan Cooper (New Westminster BC) scored a goal and two assists on Remembrance Day against the Estevan Bruins and that set the tone for a nice week for the blueliner, who helped his team secure a win Friday in Yorkton before dropping a one goal game against Nipawin on Saturday.
Cooper finished the week with four points and now has two goals and 13 assists in 21 games overall.
Rookie of the Week
Joe O’Brien, Nipawin Hawks
1995 G Joe O’Brien (Clayton CA) turned aside 61 of 63 shots in two starts last week, helping his team earn a split in his two appearances.
On Saturday, he made 33 saves in a 2-1 decision over Weyburn.
That performance earned him another start one night later against Notre Dame and he blocked 29-30, but didn’t get any support in dropping a 1-0 game.
Overall, he’s 4-3-and-2 with a 2.37-GAA and .927-SPCT.
Flin Flon Bomber Brett Boehm was named as the SJHL’s Player of the Week, last week.
