Happy Wednesday, everyone. Today, Jan. 25 was, in 1759, the birthday of Scottish poet Robert Burns.

One word comes to mind after a quick peek in the back of the NorVA Centre: chaos. There are buckets and piles of materials everywhere, including everyday objects such as buttons, pieces of crushed and cracked tile, and glass.

In the afterglow of Christmas celebrations, I had a great idea for a column: a retrospective of the year past. After all, 2016 was full of fabulous performances and visual art shows.

One of Canada’s most esteemed dance companies will soon visit Flin Flon. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet will perform at the RH Channing Auditorium this Tuesday, Nov. 22.

We have another really busy time of performances coming up in Flin Flon over the next two weeks, so let’s dive right in and find out what treats are in store for our region in November. On Thursday, Nov.

Grease is the word – for the Flin Flon Community Choir. The choir will perform the world-famous 1950s-themed musical in May.

In September 2016, Flin Flon’s Tim Spencer wrote a letter to Rochelle Squires, Manitoba’s minister of sport, culture and heritage, advocating for steady or increased funding for the Home Routes concert program.
