Dear Editor, I am writing this letter not as a Steelworker, but as a resident of Flin Flon.

Dear Editor, This letter has two parts. First is the issue of our so-called declining community.

Dear Editor, Interesting article in The Reminder (“Hudbay to carry on as IAM strikes,” May 1).

In 2017, Canada will celebrate the 150th anniversary of Confederation. The main theme of the celebration will be “strong, proud and free.

The Auditor General has once again identified a number of areas where the Harper government is clearly failing Canadians.

The Aurora Borealis Arts Council (ABC) is bringing the southern Manitoba musical group Country Blend back to Snow Lake for a return engagement.

It’s as high-stakes a game as has been played in Flin Flon in decades. On one side are the nearly 200 tradespeople of IAM Local 1848, equipped with a strike mandate and dissatisfied with Hudbay’s final contract offer.

The Snow Lake Spartan Squirts, along with parents and coaches, travelled to The Pas for a tournament on the weekend of March 21 and 22.
