The Aurora Borealis Arts Council (ABC) is bringing the southern Manitoba musical group Country Blend back to Snow Lake for a return engagement.
They performed to a well-attended dinner show last spring and will again be performing in the Lawrie Marsh Community Hall at 3 pm on Sunday, May 24.
For those unfamiliar with Country Blend, they are a musical quintet that features some fine honky tonk piano and exceptional vocal harmonies.
The group consists of Henry Martens of Baldur, Manitoba; Dianne Lodge of Belmont, Manitoba; Evelyn Ramage of Manitou, Manitoba; Gordy (Crazy Fingers) Lindquist, who lives near Bottineau, North Dakota; and Ken Lodge also of Belmont, Manitoba.
The Arts Council is also hard at work putting together another summer performance of Kate Rice and the Gold Diggers, a historic skit of the Snow Lake Gold Rush set in 1916.
Phyllis Verbeek of the ABC reports this is part two of a three-year trilogy. It will run every Saturday afternoon throughout the summer in the Snow Lake Motor Inn!
My Take on Snow Lake runs Fridays.
