This has been one of the most exciting seasons I’ve had the privilege of covering the Flin Flon Bombers. I remember following the team through some pretty lean years and thinking, “I don’t care if they win, as long as they compete hard each night.

A warmer-than-usual, but still chilly, Wednesday morning saw 30 riders pack up their snowmobiles and head south for the annual Lions Club Journey for Sight.

Year-over-year attendance appears down at Creighton Community School, but must of this relates to the success of the school’s sports teams.

The SJHL is introducing a bantam draft this spring and while the general consensus is favourable, some clarification is required so that everyone understands the process and reasoning behind it.

An intense rivalry was renewed Tuesday at the Whitney Forum, where the Flin Flon Bombers doubled up on the visiting La Ronge Ice Wolves 6-3. Six different Bombers scored to help the team earn its sixth consecutive win.

Flin Flon’s A and AA Atom teams welcomed eight other clubs for the annual Jason Morran Memorial Tournament as “good competition and exciting games” kept the young players going for gold.

The Flin Flon Bombers increased their winning streak to five games with a 4-2 win over the visiting Notre Dame Hounds last Saturday, Jan. 10.

The Creighton Kodiaks are gearing up for their first home basketball tournament of the season. The senior girls will welcome seven schools this coming weekend as they hope to work their way to the top of the A side finals.
