Year-over-year attendance appears down at Creighton Community School, but must of this relates to the success of the school’s sports teams.
As teams progress to play at provincial competitions, it is necessary for students to be away from class due to the travel schedules involved, says a news release from Creighton School Division.
When a student’s attendance has been identified as a concern, the release adds, parents are contacted about improving attendance and supports are provided to individual students to ensure they make it to class.
In other Creighton Community School news, a staff appreciation dinner held earlier this winter saw educational assistants Kathy Schultz and Sue Norman both receive 25-year service awards. Vice-principal Jason Straile received his 15-year award.
