The Flin Flon Bombers believe they have found their power play anchor with a trade that puts star blueliner Joel Webb in maroon and white.

The annual general meeting of league governors, coaches and general managers for the 2015-16 SJHL season was held last weekend in Nipawin. SJHL president Bill Chow was elected league president for a fifth season.

The Phantom Lake Golf Course held its Opening Day tournament last weekend with Darcy Salamondra taking the championship title for the men’s side. Salamondra finished with a score of 71 while Sue Murray finished with an 84 on the ladies’ side.

Hapnot Collegiate Institute held a Skateboard and BMX competition over the weekend, bringing more than 20 skaters from Flin Flon and area, The Pas and Thompson to the skatepark in Flin Flon.

CJ Pranteau, 18, performs an “ollie” on his skateboard on Wright Avenue last week. With the weather (sometimes) behaving of late, skateboarders have been frequently spotted at the Flin Flon Skatepark near Many Faces Education Centre.

Leanna Campbell has gone from fan to front office for the Flin Flon Bombers. Campbell became office administrator for the club in mid-April, overseeing finances, raffles and paperwork, among other functions.
