A section of Flin Flon’s uptown area is set to be zoned to accommodate the sale of recreational cannabis. Flin Flon city council gave first reading to Bylaw 2018-11 to provide for cannabis retail locations at its July 3 meeting.

Minor injuries were reported after a Via Rail train derailed between The Pas and Hudson Bay. The eight-car train went off the tracks shortly after 3 am on July 5, on its way to The Pas with 16 passengers and five crew on board.

George Sewap hopes to keep the memory of his late aunt alive with an upcoming memorial walk. Sewap sent a request to Flin Flon city council to hold a memorial walk through uptown Flin Flon on August 18.
