While their thoughts may still be on school, sports and games, students in one local school are participating in a program to help point the way toward a future career path.

Liz Rodnisky wouldn’t trade her volunteer position for anything. The Flin Flon resident has been assisting the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA) for the past decade.

The words of area writers will be celebrated at an upcoming book launch. On Saturday, Feb. 20, the Flin Flon Public Library will host the launch of Words on the Rocks , a recently published collection of works by local writers.

Students in Hapnot Collegiate’s construction course recently saw the first ice shack they built moved out of the classroom. The ice shack will be taken across the ice to Camp Whitney later this winter.
