Nominations open for volunteer awards

Flin Flon, Creighton and Denare Beach are full of selfless volunteers. Now Community Futures Greenstone is looking for nominations for this year’s volunteer awards.

Register for all under one roof

Organizations, clubs and groups will have a chance to promote themselves at this year’s Registration Under One Roof. Organizations will be invited to the Flin Flon Community Hall for this year’s group registration on Sept. 12 and 13.

Another $700 raised with Habitat blocks

The Flin Flon and area communities continue to show their support for Habitat for Humanity 53º. In recent weeks they have added another $700 toward building a home through the ongoing Buy A Block campaign.

Hospital floor reopens post-burst

The obstetrics and post-surgery floor of the Flin Flon General Hospital has reopened following a mishap. A burst water pipe was noticed on Dec. 8, causing the evacuation of the fifth floor. Patients were relocated to elsewhere in the building.
