OTTAWA — Former professional players Antony Auclair and Michael O'Connor have earned roster spots on Canada's national men's flag football team. The two were among 12 players named to the squad following its national identification camp.

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers defeated the Saskatchewan Roughriders 15-9 in Canadian Football League pre-season action on Saturday. Sergio Castillo booted five field goals for the Blue Bombers at Princess Auto Stadium.

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed star quarterback Zach Collaros to a one-year contract extension through the 2026 season, the CFL club announced Friday.

EDMONTON — There was a time, ages ago, when fans in Commonwealth Stadium rose and roared in unison as Henry (Gizmo) Williams picked his way through a horde of defenders to return another kick for another touchdown.

HAMILTON — Jamal Peters and DaShaun Amos are together again. The veteran defensive backs reunited this off-season when Amos signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. They were 2022 Grey Cup champions with the Toronto Argonauts.

LANGFORD — Running backs Ludovick Choquette and Tiyon Evans each had touchdowns, and the defence recorded three sacks as the Calgary Stampeders opened the CFL pre-season schedule with a 26-16 victory over the B.C.
