Out of the ongoing hysteria around school bullying came a perfectly reasonable question at the Flin Flon school board’s public-input session this past January.

It’s the phone call no mine worker looks forward to, that early morning shout from the Shifter advising of an incident below surface – a fire, a rock fall or an explosion – where lives hang in the balance.

Buried somewhere within the City of Flin Flon’s Clean and Green strategy is a wish that society would go back to the way it used to be.

It comes as no surprise that Niki Ashton is pondering another run at the leadership of the federal NDP. As the Winnipeg Free Press reports, the Churchill-Keewatinook Aski MP is thinking about whether to enter the leadership race when the time comes.

As has been the case since time eternal, one story begets another. They are usually a contest of one-up-man-ship that hold a common thread within the topic.

The end of April each year brings thoughts of many things, not the least of which are growth and renewal.

I just want to congratulate the fans at the Flin Flon Bombers’ game [Sunday] night. Even though our team lost, we treated the winners with respect, did not throw anything on the ice, and were patient while they accepted their awards.

Dear Editor, So yet again the topic of banning pit-bulls and Rottweilers raises its ugly head. Whenever there is a dog attack there is a societal outcry about banning so-called dangerous breeds.
