The time is nigh for take two on the Saskatchewan provincial cross-country skiing championships.

It’s two games, two losses for Flin Flon to start the Bombers’ second-round series with the Battlefords North Stars. The Stars opened the scoring in the first, with Braydon Buziak putting in his first of the playoffs.

The Bombers stumbled out of the gate in their second-round playoff series, giving up a 3-0 shutout loss to the Battlefords North Stars Friday night. While Flin Flon outshot the Stars by a healthy margin, none of those shots could find the twine.

The Flin Flon Bombers will start their next playoff series Friday night in North Battleford. An official schedule for the Bombers' second round series was released by the SJHL Wednesday morning.

Flin Flon’s Mackenzie Grove is heading home from the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer, Alta. with a set of above-average finishes. In each of her cross-country skiing events, Grove was the highest-ranked finisher from Team Saskatchewan.

The Flin Flon Bombers ended the SJHL regular season on a high note, putting the kibosh on Melfort's season title hopes with a big 3-1 home win. Nate Hooper opened the scoring five minutes in, giving the Bombers an early lead.
