The Bombers stumbled out of the gate in their second-round playoff series, giving up a 3-0 shutout loss to the Battlefords North Stars Friday night.

While Flin Flon outshot the Stars by a healthy margin, none of those shots could find the twine. Battlefords opened the scoring late in the first with a goal by Kaden Boser, with goals later in the game by the Loon-Stewardson brothers - Elijah scored in the second period, while Quintin added another goal early in the third.

Joel Grzybowski got a 37 save shutout win, while Gabriel Waked made 24 saves in the loss, his first playoff loss as a Bomber.

Stars defender Austin Shumanski was given a game misconduct late in the third period after a head hit to a Bomber player.

The two clubs will face off again Saturday night for Game 2 in North Battleford.
