Summer has arrived and a number of local groups are hoping to find qualified young people for seasonal work. The jobs are usually available to high school students out of class for the summer or university students coming home after classes wrap up.

Members of the Flin Flon Fire Department can breathe a little easier at fire scenes. The department has bought 15 brand new self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBAs).

Lack of entries leads to cancelled show in Thompson

The Flin Flon Station Museum has received a special status from the province. The museum received Star Attraction status from Travel Manitoba and the Manitoba Ministry of Growth, Enterprise and Trade on May 8.

It will likely be after June when Flin Flon’s tourism brand is revealed to the community. An update on the branding process shows that McKim Communications Group has formed a creative brief for the brand.

Bans on all fires are now in effect for most of Saskatchewan and for Flin Flon.

This year’s edition of the Trout Festival will feature some diversions from the usual. The 2018 festival will see some additions made to some familiar events, including Main Street Days and the annual fish fry.

Bus service will run directly to the doors of the new North of 53 Consumers Co-op.
