Here is yet another exciting column full of talk about music and magic in Flin Flon and area. On the weekend of February 21 and 22 there are two events coming.

There is another terrific weekend of music coming up just in time for Valentine’s Day, right here in our own hometown.

How can the north promote itself? What can the north promote? The Flin Flon Arts Council is hoping to answer both questions in an upcoming event.

One thing which is never heard here in the Flin Flon area is the complaint that there is nothing to do. January is no different.

When Catherine Joa applied to the Saskatchewan Arts Board’s permanent collection, she thought she had been rejected. “I don't check my mail my very often, so I kind of thought I missed the boat because I never heard anything back,” she said.

What an exceptional way to kick off a New Year in Flin Flon, dare we say it, the arts and culture capital of Manitoba! We are starting the year with two exceptional shows that “come from away”.

There’s no rest for either the wicked or Ham Sandwich. Auditions are underway for the group’s next show. Hot on the heels of the troupe’s performance of C.S.

He may be far from his original home, but make no mistake – there’s still a piece of the north in musician Tristan Simon.

Fans will come together Dec. 12-14 at Johnny’s Social Club for the now-annual Beatlemania show.

The real Dean Martin will stand up during the upcoming Flin Flon Arts Council and Community Choir Christmas show.
