A day of commemoration

An annual day of commemoration for Canada’s war dead began after the First World War.

Remembrance Day restrictions

The Manitoba government reminds retailers and employees that most non-essential businesses are required to close until 1 p.m. on Nov. 11 to commemorate Remembrance Day. The law permits retail businesses to open, as long as they close between 9 a.m.

Entering fest? Let them know

Residents have until mid next week to confirm their participation in a holiday tradition. Those who will be entering the upcoming Festival of Trees need to notify CADAC, the sponsor, by Wednesday, Nov. 13.
