Introduce yourself to the public.

My name is Colleen Stallard. My husband Dwight and I have been residents of Creighton for a great many years. We were both raised here. Our son, Jeff, grew up here and attended Creighton Community School. He now resides in Saskatoon.

What is the single biggest challenge facing Creighton and what would you do to address this challenge?

The single biggest challenge facing Creighton right now is to promote and encourage ongoing businesses, as well as new businesses. As a council we need to encourage new entrepreneurship to realize that we are a viable, stable community with ample opportunity.

I think right now the search for a regional economic development officer is for sure a step in the right direction.

What is your long-term vision for Creighton?

My long-term vision for Creighton would be for our community to have a provincial-run, 24/7 nursing home. In my own opinion, this is something that is long overdue.

We need a facility for our aging residents that require this type of care to have a place to move so they will not have to leave their own community. I would also like to see down the road some new houses built in our newly serviced subdivision.

What do you believe makes you qualified to sit on council?

What makes me qualified to sit on council? Well I am not so sure as being qualified as being dedicated. I feel that I can work well with mayor and council as a conscientious candidate and help make a positive difference in our great town.
