The NVDB is very fortunate to have an extremely competent staff, and I strongly promote continued education for all staff in their respective areas. I promote working to develop a workplace for employees that reflects the Village of Denare Beach as an employer of choice.

Fiscal policy is extremely important in these challenging times. It is incumbent upon us to be cognizant of our fiscal responsibilities.

Crime has become a major concern for many Denare Beach residents. As a councillor, how would you approach this issue?

This is definitely a huge challenge and a concern for not only myself as a councillor, but as a citizen of Denare Beach and a citizen in general, no matter where you may live. Truth is, social and economic disparities contribute greatly to the situation, as do lack of adequate resources to deal with the problems.

My goal is to work closely with the local agencies such as RCMP, but also to lobby for social worker presence in the area to help deal with youth at risk. We as a community need to support youth and create a meaningful action plan which promotes growth and social development.

What skills would you bring to village council?

If elected, it will be my fifth term as councillor. That brings significant knowledge of municipal processes and policies. As well, I am a retired employee of MTS after 33 years. The last 20 years were in corporate sales, which provides me with a good sense of business acumen and knowledge of what is happening in our current economic situation. I am also a past president of the Flin Flon and District Chamber of Commerce and a previous member of the Rotarian Club. I value and appreciate your support.
