What would be your top priorities if elected?

If elected to another term on Village council, I would continue to make common-sense decisions based on all pertinent information at council’s disposal and through due diligence. To come to proper decision-making, which would move our village forward in a positive manner for all citizens of Denare Beach.

I would like to see a recycling program at the Beach to extend the life of expectancy of our landfill, a balanced budget, a community crime prevention program and general cleanup up of our green spaces to enhance the beauty of our community.

Crime has become a major concern for many Denare Beach residents. As a councillor, how would you approach this issue?

Crime is a very intricate situation. But going forward, we must all work together to approach all levels of government to change a lot of areas of crime prevention that seem to be stalled in a bureaucratic quagmire of too many people who cannot do their jobs properly, [that] they have been hired to do by we the taxpayers and voters in levels of government.

Also I would like to see more community service to offenders of all ages enforced by police and government agencies so that offenders see that there are consequences to their actions.

What skills would you bring to village council?

Being employed by Hudbay for 30 years and being involved in all levels of union office, and negotiating at highest levels with the company and all levels of government, gives me insight to deal not only with people, but all levels of government officials. It gives me a vast knowledge on how to carry issues forward on behalf of all who call Denare Beach home. So on October 26, I ask for your support.
