Peacefully, and with her husband and daughters by her side, Hilda Dunbar lost her courageous battle with cancer on January 29, 2015.
She leaves to mourn her husband Bernard, daughters Val (Gord) Evans, Donna (Bryant) Frazer, Tammy Dunbar, 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and was predeceased by daughters Bernice and Shirley.
Hilda was also predeceased by her father, Edward Fourre Sr., mother Marie (Ivan) Kerhe, and siblings Joe and Edward Junior.
Hilda was born September 18, 1940 in The Pas, Manitoba, where she spent most of her childhood years. She came to Flin Flon in her teens where she met the love of her life, Bernard Dunbar. Mom and Dad were married in 1957 in Flin Flon, where they raised their daughters.
After retirement they lived in Winnipeg, Rapid City, Manitoba, then returned to reside in Flin Flon.
Mom had many interests in her life, which included fastball, darts, shuffleboard, lawn bowling, league bowling, cards, bingo, and especially shopping. Her real passion was looking after her husband Bernard and their dog Buddy.
Her family, friends, and many others whose lives she has touched will sadly miss her. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Flin Flon Palliative Care, c/o The Flin Flon General Hospital, on behalf of Hilda Dunbar.
A heartfelt thank you to all on the third floor who helped make Mom’s last days as comfortable and pain free as possible.
