Harold Richard James Bonazew passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at the Flin Flon Personal Care Home at the age of 74 years.
Harold was born in Swan River, MB, on April 23, 1940, to parents Anne and Alex Bonazew.
He lived in Togo, Boggy Creek, Roblin, Thompson, Flin Flon, and Bakers Narrows.
He served with the Infantry PPCLI.
On February 10, 1962, he married Shelby Linda Haggarty. He was self-employed with his trucking business until his retirement at the age of 65 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, quad rides, and his grandchildren. He attended the Catholic church.
He learned how to skate with his grandchildren. He was a very hard working, loyal family man and was very generous and kind. Harold gave 110 percent in everything he did, whether it was good or bad. He will be dearly missed by many.
Harold was predeceased by his parents; sisters Irene, Peggy, and Patricia; sisters-in-law Lois (Marvin) Eagle and Barbara Eagle; in-laws Bertha and Roscoe Haggarty; nephews Randy and Norman Jr. and niece Lori. He is survived by his wife Shelby; children Kathy (Perry) Wynn, Rena (Bob) Gummerson, Deena (Jim) Caron, Harold (Jennifer), and Heather (Mike) McCartan; grandchildren Meagan, Ashley, Whitney, Rikki, Taylor, Shelby, Carter, Brayden, Cole, Kailey, Nicholas, Avery and Hanna; great grandchildren Nicole, Jayda, Brooke, and London; sister Merle (Hank) Cormier; sister-in-law Bobbi (Dale) Powell; brothers-in-law Norman Bresky, Howard Eagle, and Alec Gourlay; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Harold’s life will be held Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from the Flin Flon Community Hall, North Avenue.
