Dmytro (Metro) Grocholski, 73 years, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013, at the Northern Lights Manor.
He was born in Schlater, MB, on November 6, 1940, to Mary and Nick Grocholski.
He worked at Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Co. (now Hudbay) from November 3, 1966 until June 30, 1997, as an underground miner.
Metro married Sharon Mason on November 7, 1970, and they had two children, Brent and Heather.
He was predeceased by his parents, brother Steve, and father-in-law William Mason.
Metro is survived by his wife Sharon; son Brent; daughter Heather (Roger Siemens); grandsons Austin and Duncanson; mother-in-law Edith Mason; sister-in-law Shirley (Mike Dickens); brother-in-law Hedley Mason (Marica); two sisters, Julie Chambers of Flin Flon and Rose Ozikowski of Portage la Prairie; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
He enjoyed doing odd jobs, latch hooking, going to Bomber games, and Johnny’s for coffee to visit with guys he worked with.
