After a courageous battle with cancer, Bob (Robert) Bottrell died peacefully on November 19, 2014, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 66. He leaves behind his sons Damian, Tyler and Kent and his grandchildren, his sister Mae (Rae), brothers Donald (Shelly) and Neil (Rosie), nieces, and nephews.
Bob was born on March 13, 1948, and grew up in Flin Flon, Manitoba. He worked in the mines near Flin Flon for many years before moving to British Columbia then settling in Central Alberta, where he resided for the past 15 years, in Sylvan Lake.
Bob always wore a smile. He enjoyed working with his hands and would take on many building projects, such as building fences and landscaping. In the winter months, Bob drove taxi in Sylvan Lake. He enjoyed this job as it allowed him to befriend many people and share his views on life with those around him.
Bob requested to be cremated. His ashes will be laid to rest, by his family, at a later date, in Flin Flon.
