Beatrice Byers passed away peacefully at the Flin Flon General Hospital on August 31, 2014, at the age of 85.
Beatty was born in Swan River, MB, November 28, 1928. She moved to Flin Flon at six weeks of age, making her one of the longest living residents of Flin Flon. Beatty was an employee of HBM&S in the Stewards Department for 26 years.
She was an avid curler and curled with the same team for more than 25 years.
Beat was predeceased by her husband Del Byers, her parents Vic and Isa Bowes, her brother Walt (Lil) Bowes, and her sister June (Wayne) Johnson. She is survived by her sister Babe (Cliff) McCullum, her sister-in-law Lil Bowes, plus numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Flin Flon/Creighton & Area SPCA, as she knew every animal’s name within a 50-mile radius.
We will sadly miss you, Beat. You were such a joy to be with. We loved your easygoing nature, you were always so much fun.
