A three-game road trip ended without a win for the Flin Flon Bombers. They lost their third consecutive game in overtime to the Yorkton Terriers Oct. 12.

One point is nice, especially against the league’s best team, but the Flin Flon Bombers came up just short of two Friday night.

One of the two spots in the Northern Saskatchewan Football League’s championship game belongs to the Creighton Kodiaks. A 44-20 win over the Sandy Bay T-Wolves Oct. 10 clinched the team’s spot in the big dance.

The Flin Flon Bombers played a great game in Humboldt Thursday night - for about 58 minutes, that is. Two goals in the last two minutes doomed the Bombers to a 3-2 loss.

Things continue to go well for Flin Flon’s Justin Lies. The Vancouver Giants forward scored the first goal of his young WHL career Oct. 5, adding a marker during the team’s game against the Winnipeg Ice.

It took some extra time to do it, but the Flin Flon Bombers came away with a big 5-4 Friday night win over Kindersley. The Klippers got on the board first, courtesy of a goal by Kyle Bosch on the powerplay during a net-front scrum.

Football teams don’t typically forget how many touchdowns they score in a game, but for the Creighton Kodiaks, exact numbers didn’t matter - all that’s certain is the team won big in their final regular season game Oct. 2.

The final piece of the deal that brought Cade Kowalski to the Flin Flon Bombers late last season has been announced, with forward Shayde Peterson heading to Weyburn.

The Creighton Kodiaks special teams is usually their strength, but in Cumberland House on Sept. 25, it proved to be their downfall.
