With the Centennial Cup on the horizon, the Bombers named their annual team award winners at an official ceremony and send-off May 13.

The Centennial Cup is beginning to take shape. Seven of the 10 teams that will take part are now known, including some of the Bombers' opponents.

The dream is over. The Bombers dropped Game 7 on the road Friday night, losing the league title to Estevan in the process.

The hits keep on coming for Bomber defenceman Xavier Lapointe. The D-man is one of five players nominated for the national junior A defenceman of the year award.

Ladies and gentlemen, the series is going to Game 7. The Bombers fought back to tie the SJHL championship series in their last game on home ice this year, beating Estevan 6-1 in Game 6 and forcing a do-or-die Game 7 on the road Friday night.

The Bombers took Estevan to overtime in Game 5, but could not close out the Bruins. Estevan took the 3-2 W and a series lead, giving the Bruins a chance to win the title Tuesday at the Whitney Forum.

We don’t know all the teams yet, but we know what leagues’ champions Flin Flon will play in the Centennial Cup next month.
