A pair of Hapnot basketball players are no longer just stars. They’re literally all-stars.

Briah Atkinson and Alyssa Patterson were each selected to play in last week’s Basketball Manitoba A/AA/AAA girls’ graduating all-star game at St. Paul’s High School in Winnipeg April 13.

Both players are Grade 12 student athletes attending Hapnot Collegiate. They became key parts of the Hapnot Kweens junior and senior varsity teams during their four-year stints at the school.

Atkinson and Patterson each suited up for Team Wilson, joining a 14-player roster and a 28-player game assembled using the top players from across Manitoba. Team Wilson ended the game with a 60-42 loss, but Patterson was named player of the game for her team after scoring 10 points.

Patterson was also named to the provincial A/AA/AAA All-Manitoba second team, one of only three northern Manitoba players to be named to one of two all-Manitoba teams this year. Patterson joined R.D. Parker Trojan Emma Deibert on the second team, while another R.D. Parker student, Ashley Williams, was named to the provincial first team.
