Once they hit the mat, Flin Flon-born wrestlers Carson and Hunter Lee are like characters in a DJ Khaled song - all they do is win, win, win no matter what.

Both Lee brothers were integral parts of the men’s Huskies squad winning the Canada West team title Feb. 9, each winning their weight classes at the event.

In total, four Huskies men’s wrestlers won their weight groups, with Carson earning the honours in the 82-kilogram group and Hunter winning at 90 kilograms.

Carson defeated both Nicholas Goleniec of the Alberta Golden Bears and Calgary Dino Connor Pointer to finish first in his group. Hunter finished first in a four-man division, beating out Karan Dhillon from the University of the Fraser Valley, Golden Bear Taran Dhillon and Evan Walker with the Dinos.

To add to the victories, Carson was also named Canada West rookie of the year and the Univ. of Saskatchewan’s Athlete of the Week for his performance.

Both brothers have been automatically qualified for the upcoming USports national Wrestling Championships, set for Feb. 21-22 at St. Catherines, Ont.’s Brock University.

Both brothers entered the tournament as the top wrestlers in Canadian university sports in their weight classes. Hunter won his weight division at the recent Cascade Invitational tournament in British Columbia, also winning the Huskie Invitational and Golden Bear Invitational earlier in the season. Carson won his weight class at the Golden Bear event and also finished second at the Guelph Open, losing to an American wrestler in the tournament final.

Both brothers are set to participate in international competitions and training camps after the university wrestling season concludes.

The USports wrestling finals will be livestreamed online at www.usports.live.
