Three Hapnot Collegiate athletes made the trek down to Swan River, putting in a good showing at the Manitoba High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Girls’ Provincial Golf Championships.

Ainsley McCracken, Sarah Faktor and Chloe Reitlo each played 18 holes at Swan River Golf and Country Club. McCracken shot the best score of the trio. Her 111 was good enough for a top 10 finish. Faktor and Reitlo both shot 142 on the day.

The best round belonged to Armann Dhillon of St. John's Ravenscourt, who ran away with the competition. Her 84 was 16 strokes better than any other golfer on the day. Dhillon was the only golfer from St. John’s to compete in the competition.

For the team event, each school took their best three scores on the day and their combined score would decide the winner.

Major Pratt School from Russell won the competition, with a combined score of 323. The hosts Swan Valley came in second with 335 and Nellie McClung Collegiate from Manitou rounded out the top 3 with 359. Hapnot’s combined score was 395.

The Manitoba high school sports schedule continues with the Zone 11 soccer championship Sept. 27.
