Four teams up, four teams down - the Flin Flon Bombers finished off an undefeated preseason with a 6-1 win over Nipawin.

The Hawks opened the scoring in the first period, with a shot by Josh Bell squeaking by the pads of Bomber goalie Jacob Delorme. From there on out, Flin Flon took over.

Later in the first period, Vincent Nardone got the Bombers on the board, using some elbow grease to sneak the puck past Hawks goalie and likely season starter Declan Hobbs. The clubs were tied 1-1 after 20 minutes.

The Bombers opened the second period with fanfare, taking the lead after a spectacular individual effort by Matt Flodell, who snuck the puck past two defenders before beating Hobbs. Flin Flon wouldn't relinquish the lead, with the team's defense allowing few shots in the final 30 minutes of the game.

Flin Flon forward Caleb Moretz scored off a back board rebound to make it 3-1, while Brandson Hein capitalized on a fine passing play to make it 4-1 Bombers.

Jessie Young scored off a fortuitous bounce, while Moretz closed out the scoring late in the third off another well-done passing play.

Delorme and Pierce Diamond split the win for the Bombers.

Over the team's four preseason games, the Bombers outscored their opponents 29-5. The Bomber roster will undergo some cuts before the first games of the regular season, an away game against La Ronge on Sept. 14 and a home game against the Ice Wolves on Sept. 15.
