Once again, it's a brand new series.
The Melfort Mustangs downed the Flin Flon Bombers 5-1 Wednesday night to tie the Canalta Cup Final at two wins apiece.
Brandon Switzer (Joel Kocur, Tyson Empey) scored Flin Flon's lone goal, a power play marker, at 17:01 of the first period.
Melfort's Craig Leverton had two goals, with assists going to Wyatt Hinson and Miles Warkentine on both markers. Also scoring for the Mustangs were Howard Yawit (Brett Kitt), Dakota Boutin (unassisted) and Kitt (unassisted). Kitt's goal was an empty-netter.
Melfort's Richard Palmer was strong in net. Brenden Newton earned the nod between the pipes for Flin Flon.
Announced attendance at the Whitney Forum was 1,633.
Game 5 goes Friday night in Melfort. The series returns to Flin Flon on Sunday for game 6.
