This one didn't quite go Flin Flon's way. The Bombers lost the third game of their preseason run Wednesday night, losing a gritty 6-2 affair to La Ronge.

The Ice Wolves got on the board first with a powerplay goal from Aaron Greyeyes. The Bombers got a tying goal in the second period from Easton Haygarth, but La Ronge piled on with three straight goals from Tristan Lambert, Gavin Matter and Kaiden Collumb.

The Bombers got a second goal from newcomer Rhett Rheinhart in the early third period, but the Ice Wolves got two more goals from William Smith and Spencer Kennedy late.

Liam McGarva got the win in his first preseason game for La Ronge, making 34 saves. Cal Schell was in night for the whole game for Flin Flon, making 50 saves while getting stuck with the L.

According to the official SJHL game sheet, the two teams combined for nearly two-and-a-half hours of penalties in the game, including a pair of fights and a series of misconducts. The Ice Wolves took advantage of the Bombers' frequent trips to the sin-bin - five of La Ronge's six goals were scored on the powerplay.

Flin Flon also saw two new WHL players in the lineup Wednesday night - forward Justin Lies and defenceman Rhinehart. Lies, born and raised in Flin Flon, played for the WHL's Vancouver Giants last season and has practiced with the Bombers throughout training camp. Rhinehart, a defenceman with the Saskatoon Blades and former teammate of current Bombers Zach Huber and Marek Schneider, played his first game as a Bomber Wednesday and scored one of the team's two goals.

The Bombers and Ice Wolves will play their final preseason game at the Whitney Forum on Halloween night. Only 150 tickets will be sold for the game, with no walk-ups allowed. Tickets can be purchased at the Bomber office Thursday.
