Eight unanswered goals in two periods sunk the Flin Flon Bombers in their second and final SJHL Showcase game, losing 10-3 to the Battlefords.

The North Stars got on the board first courtesy of a goal by Dylan Esau, but Alec Malo answered back quickly for the Bombers. Seth Summers got the lead back for the Stars. Donavan Houle-Villeneuve got involved later in the first, scoring his seventh and eighth goals of the season to give the Bombers a 3-2 lead after the first.

It was in the second period where the floodgates opened. First, Quintin Loon-Stewardson got on the board with a game-tying marker midway through the period. Then, another shot by Loon-Stewardson was tipped in by Matthias Urbanski, followed by another goal by Loon-Stewardson on a powerplay minutes later. The Stars led 5-3 after 40.

Jacob Delorme, who started the game for the Bombers, was pulled for the third period in favour of backup J.P. Mella. The Stars then unloaded on the Bombers' net, with Kaden Boser scoring first. Austin Becker, Dace Prymak and Urbanski each found the net, followed by Noah Form hitting double digits for the Stars with one second left on the clock.

Alec Malo was given the Bombers' most outstanding player award for the game, while Loon-Stewardson received the honours for the Stars.

Adam Dmyterko got the win for the Stars, making 28 saves. Delorme made 18 stops through the first two periods, while Mella closed out the game with eight saves on 13 shots.

The Bombers, now finished with the showcase in Warman, will head back home for a matchup against division rivals Nipawin Saturday. The Bombers will then face the Kindersley Klippers, now helmed by former Bomber head coach Larry Wintoneak, at home Oct. 4-5.
