The Flin Flon Bombers got a big lump of coal in their stocking Sunday afternoon, losing their final game before the holiday break to the Kindersley Klippers.

For the second time in less than 24 hours, the Klippers beat the Bombers, handing Flin Flon a 3-1 loss.

The Klippers got out to an early lead, courtesy of goals from Clay Keeley and Caden Benson. Midget callup Shayde Peterson, a late cut from Bomber camp earlier this year, scored his first junior goal in his first junior game for Flin Flon late in the first. Peterson replaced Bomber leading scorer Brandson Hein in the lineup for Sunday's game.

Offence was hard to find in the last two periods. Liam Fraser added an extra goal for the Klippers early in the third, giving Kindersley a two goal lead they would not relinquish.

Jacob Delorme took the L for the Bombers, making 29 saves. Kindersley backup Zach Johnson had 31 saves in the win.

The Bombers will take the next two weeks off the ice for the holidays, returning to the ice on New Year's Eve and New Years' Day for a home and home series with La Ronge. The Bombers will start with a game in La Ronge on Dec. 31, before returning home the next night for the first game of 2019. Following that, the Bombers will play four straight games on the road before coming home Jan. 12 for a matchup with Melfort.
