Bombers drop preseason date 4-2 to Ice Wolves

You can't win 'em all. The Flin Flon Bombers dropped their second exhibition game of the preseason Saturday night, losing to La Ronge 4-2 on the road.

Holden Knights opened the scoring for La Ronge a minute into the first, but the Bombers clawed back with goals from Hayden Clayton and Jaeden Mercier. While Flin Flon ended the first with a 2-1 lead, the Ice Wolves pulled away in the second half of the game. Logan Holm tied things up with a powerplay goal and a pair of third period goals from La Ronge's Walker Jerome and Brandon Della Paolera sealed Flin Flon's fate.

Jared Thompson, playing his first game as a Bomber in the preseason, made 29 saves in a losing effort. La Ronge netminder Xavier Cannon, the team's presumptive backup, made 31 saves in the win.

The two teams are now halfway through their preseason schedule and will play two more games against each other this coming week. The Bombers will head back to La Ronge Oct. 28 for a second away game before coming back and playing the fourth and final game at the Whitney Forum Halloween night.
