Bomber fans are about to get very well-acquainted again with the La Ronge Ice Wolves. The Bombers and their Hanson Lake Road rivals will play their entire preseasons against each other, facing each other four times before the end of October.

The SJHL released a preseason schedule for all 12 teams Oct. 17, including a four-game series of games between the Bombers and Ice Wolves. The two teams will start with an Oct. 22 home game at the Whitney Forum, followed by a Saturday night special in La Ronge Oct. 24.

The Bombers will head back home - new COVID-19 regulations for Saskatchewan hockey do not allow teams to stay overnight for away games - then head back to La Ronge Oct. 28 for the third game of the preseason, then host the Ice Wolves for the last preseason game on Halloween night at the Forum.

Up to 150 fans will be allowed inside the Forum, in addition to rink staff and volunteers. Mask use will be mandatory and social distancing will be in effect, as per league and provincial health rules. La Ronge will be restricting the Mel Hegland Uniplex even further, allowing only billet families and player families into the rink for games there. As of Oct. 17, there are 29 active cases of COVID-19 in the region of northern Saskatchewan that includes La Ronge.
