The person who was the subject of a missing vulnerable person emergency advisory has been found dead.
The advisory was issued Saturday evening for all of southern Saskatchewan for Raul Burchi, a 93-year-old man from Regina. But the advisory was called off on Sunday night, and in a Facebook post, a member of the Burchi family confirmed he was located deceased.
At approximately 4:15 p.m. on Sunday, a vehicle was found northeast of Montmartre. The vehicle matched the description of the one belonging to Burchi. Upon examination, a dead adult male was discovered in the vehicle. Indian Head RCMP and the coroner attended the scene. Upon confirmation of the identity of the deceased male, Regina Police Service members notified the next of kin.
Investigation will continue, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroner’s Service, in order to clarify the circumstances of his death.
Burchi was last seen on Dec. 9 at approximately 8 p.m. in the 2100-block of Heseltine Road in Regina.
